Our Mission & Vision
Mission: Powered By Jesus Ministries is a community of believers dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the one true Son of God, and the singular path to salvation through Him. We fulfill this mission by creating a welcoming platform for worship and discipleship, while actively demonstrating Christ's love through compassionate service and our "Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry."
Vision: To see a community transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, where every person knows their infinite value in God's eyes, experiences the hope of salvation, and is empowered to live a life of faith and purpose.
Chris Walker
Chris Walker has a duty to Jesus, his family, and his community to share the life-changing message of salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Although Chris openly admits to being a sinner, he is determined to fight daily against the prince of this world and to live a life acceptable to Jesus, standing firm in faith for his family. It is a daily struggle, but with each victory—no matter how small—he is committed to building them into a final triumph through Christ.
Out of this conviction, Chris founded Powered By Jesus Ministries (PBJ Ministries) as a platform to proclaim the Gospel, build a Christ-centered community, and serve those in need. His mission is clear: to lead others to the saving grace of Jesus so that no soul he loves is left behind.
What is the PBJ Ministry?
A community/family/church based program to deliver sandwich sack meals to homeless people and to provide companionship to those that cannot get out or do not have access to our resources.
Teaching the lessons Jesus taught and putting them into practice. What better way to teach younger generations what Jesus commanded us to do. Proverbs 22:6, says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"
Gathering Together: We bring people together from all walks of life—volunteers, church members, and community partners—to form a team dedicated to service. This communal effort is a testament to the body of Christ working together to fulfill the Great Commission.
Preparing Wholesome Meals: We prepare wholesome sack meals with care. Each bag includes a variety of items such as a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich (made with both nut and nut-free butters to ensure safety), a bag of chips, a nutritious snack bar, and a sweet treat like a cookie.
Providing Dignity and Essentials: Each sack is more than just a meal; it's a gift of dignity and hope. We include essential toiletries and other necessities, as well as a small, meaningful Christian gift when possible, such as a pocket-sized cross or a scripture card.
The Personal Message of Worth: A key part of our ministry is the personal connection. Every bag contains a handwritten note that shares the Gospel message of Christ's salvation and a heartfelt reminder that as God's creation, every single person is valued, seen, and worthy of love.
Compassionate Distribution: Finally, our teams hit the streets to compassionately deliver the meals directly to our homeless neighbors. We take this opportunity not only to feed them but also to offer a word of prayer, a listening ear, and the unwavering message that they are not forgotten.
PBJ Ministry Program
PBJ Ministry is more than a meal program - it’s a way for God’s people to come together and serve those often forgotten or overlooked. Our outreach extends to:
• The homeless and those on the streets
• The sheltered-in-place who cannot provide for themselves
• Nursing home residents and those in long-term care
• Shut-ins who are lonely and isolated
• Widows and orphans who need comfort and community
• Children and adults in hospitals
• Veterans who’ve given so much but may now be in need
• People who suffer from social anxiety or isolation
• Anyone else facing hardship, loneliness, or lack of resources
Every sack we deliver includes a simple meal, toiletries, essentials, a handwritten note of encouragement, and a small faith-based gift as a tangible reminder that each person is loved and valued by God. If the person cannot have food we will provide faith based gifts.
The Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry
The Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry (PBJ Ministry) is the hands and feet of Jesus in our community, a compassionate outreach dedicated to meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Born from the heart of Powered By Jesus Church, our program revolves around the simple, yet profound, act of assembling and distributing sack meals—each one a symbol of God's love. We believe that salvation comes through Christ, and we demonstrate that belief through tangible acts of service, offering a moment of connection, a word of encouragement, and a powerful demonstration of His love to those who need it most.
